Support for our Missions Partners

You are invited to explore many of the ministries we support here at First Presbyterian Church Murfreesboro. Our First Friday Food Drive is a way to give tangible items to those in need. All other ministries have links to websites you can visit so if you would like to directly support any of these ministries financially just click on the logos or links. Thanks for sharing the gifts we have in Christ: hope, peace, joy, love and life!

Local Ministries

Isaiah117_fulllogowtagline_blackred.png

Isaiah 117 House serves to provide physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home environment for children awaiting placement in the foster care system. When children arrive at the House, they may have only the clothes they are wearing so Isaiah House allows children to choose 3 outfits to keep. We sponsor different crates of clothing depending  on what is needed most. Donations are made in the form of gift cards to Kohl's, Target, Walmart, Aerie or American Eagle, & JCPenney in addition to new clothes with tags that meet the specifics of the crate we sponsor. As the bins fill, the donations are taken to Isaiah House 117 House by a Mission volunteer.  Thank you for supporting these children and for your continuous sponsorship. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.

First Friday Food Drive basic.jpg

This drive happens the first Friday of every month right here at FPC. Just drive-thru the College St. portico from 9am-12pm and one of our helpful volunteers will take your donations right from your car! The food banks especially need child-friendly, easy open foods, canned and non-perishable foods that are good for all ages. Thank you for your generous commitment to this ministry - donations taken to Nourish Food Bank and Greenhouse Ministries. You may also drop off donations for the Coldest Nights homeless shelter ministry: blankets, bottled water, individually wrapped snack foods, new socks and new cotton underwear. Contact the church office if you have questions.

Project Transformation's mission is to transform communities by engaging children, college-age young adults, and churches in purposeful relationships.  Each summer our church works with other area churches to provide a free summer camp (June and July) for elementary aged children in Murfreesboro who face economic challenges. Children receive one-on-one reading tutoring,  math skill enrichment and activities to promote social, spiritual and physical health and wholeness.  Look for opportunities to volunteer to read with a child (or to provide meals) this summer.  Sign ups will begin in the Spring.  https://projecttransformation.givepulse.com/group/238917-Project-Transformation

Young Life Nicaragua, or Vida Joven, began with the purpose of helping youth accept Jesus Christ as the center of their life, believing that this would help them become transformed people capable of valuing themselves and their neighbor, of not only surviving, but growing and developing in difficult circumstances, and helping others to do the same. It starts with a change of heart but goes much further. Transformed people transform society, which is why Vida Joven serves Nicaragua's youth in practical, concrete and integrated ways. In other words, we believe in responding to their total needs: spiritual, cultural, academic, economic, recreational, and social. https://lafinca.younglife.org/en/Pages/default.aspx

Engaging followers of Christ for his work in the world. One ministry in our organization is the Home of Hope in Beirut is a long-term shelter (in a former elder care home) which currently serves 24 children, between the ages of 7 and 18, who have been exposed to abuse by their primary caregivers or community and are at risk. The children are brought to Home of Hope upon a judicial order and with a protection file. Although most are not Christians, they are lovingly cared for in Christ’s name and given academic support, counseling, and, for the older children, vocational training.https://www.theoutreachfoundation.org
